New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist)

Belinda had always wanted to get into hairdressing but life always seemed to get in the way. Living in Christchurch she decided to finally take the plunge with SIT’s Certificate in Elementary Hair Design at the Christchurch campus.

Another spanner was thrown in the works when she moved to Invercargill but her enrolment in the course was transferred so she could complete it at the Invercargill campus.

“The tutors were amazing and imparted such a huge amount of knowledge on us and having such a modern, state of the art salon environment to work in was fantastic.”

Belinda is obviously talented and has found her calling as she won the coveted Elementary Hair Design Creative Long Hair Competition as well as the Wella/Dateline Award which identified her as being first in her class.

She is now enrolled and about to start the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) course and can’t wait to get back into it with a lot of her classmates from last year also returning to further their training.

She acknowledges that the course isn’t a walk in the park and that she did work hard to get the results she enjoyed, but it was also “so much fun” and making an effort to get a lot of clients definitely helped.
