Our friendly homestay hosts offer a warm welcome, local knowledge, and a supportive environment to help you settle into life in New Zealand.

Staying with a homestay family is a great way to experience Kiwi culture, practise your English, and build connections within the local community.

The homestay host will provide:

• English language practice
• Your own bedroom
• Bedding and towels
• Privacy and a quiet place to study
• Electricity for bathing, laundry and heating
• Family and community activities.
• Some meals provided

The homestay fee is $353 per week.

Your host will meet you at the airport and will assist you to find you way to the campus and around the city. The transport options are bus, cycle or walking.

The SIT Apartments in Invercargill are made up of 12 inner-city, refurbished motel units and 40 brand new units for international and domestic students (232 beds altogether).

There are furnished rooms with each apartment including a kitchenette and bathroom.
