Engineering and automotive trades students returned to SIT during Level 3 under strict health and safety conditions to undertake practical assessments. Head of Faculty Doug Rodgers recognised the importance of ensuring that programmes were completed fully and on time, so found a way for that to happen, despite enforced difficult conditions.

In order to meet the Level 3 distancing requirements for teaching spaces, COVID-19 Government guidelines were followed with larger rooms being accessed, and split teaching shifts adopted to enable this to occur. Feedback was very positive from students keen to return to their enjoyable practical classes and assessment timetables.
