This programme is intended for learners of English as an additional language who wish to apply their English language proficiency to an academic context. Graduates will have the general language skills required to participate with increasing independence and fluency in academic English language contexts. This programme is at a level comparable to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) low B2.

The four courses that make up this programme are delivered concurrently throughout the duration of study.

Each course integrates the core language skills, language systems, and learner competencies, with content organised around common subjects and themes to ensure continuity and coherence across the programme.

While the courses are interconnected, each has a distinct focus in relation to its learning outcomes and assessment requirements. The delivery methods are appropriate and aligned with the stated programme learning outcomes.

Any specialised resources required for effective programme delivery are clearly identified and provided.

Assessment is designed to facilitate learning and evaluate learner achievement, incorporating a balanced combination of formative and summative assessment practices, with a strong emphasis on authentic, real-world tasks and applications.
