The goal of this course is to help students enhance their English language proficiency for communication. It focuses on engaging with and presenting moderately complex spoken language, allowing students to develop greater independence, fluency, and accuracy.

Fees:

SIT's English Language course is competitively priced for Domestic Students at $331.50 for 19 weeks, 
or $330 per week for International Students.

To prepare students for further ESOL or mainstream study destinations so that they can communicate more effectively in the community, in employment and/or in further study options. 

Students are tested upon arrival, and based on the placement test results, they are enrolled into a class level. They study with a mix of cultures and nationalities. The friendly and dedicated tutors help them with their learning in a positive and encouraging environment. We help students achieve their goals and improve their language skills for their future success. 

Our General English courses develop learners’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for everyday and workplace communication. Course content includes grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, fluency development, and practical real-world language tasks across a range of proficiency levels.

Students must be at least 16 years of age.

Students will be assessed using placement tests to determine that they are at the entry level required for the programme.  The placement tests consist of a writing test, a dictation, a grammar test and a one-on-one interview with the tutor to test oral/aural skills.

Successful completion of 36 credits as per the training scheme application.

Monday to Thursday

9.00am to 12.00noon, 1.00pm to 3.00pm

Fortnightly tests are carried out assess students' progress. Application criteria: Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students will be assessed using placement tests to determine their level. The placement test consists of Reading, Writing, listening, Speaking and Grammar sections.
