Southern Institute of Technology (SIT), a business division of Te Pūkenga, is seeking a passionate and experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to provide expert guidance and leadership in Health, Safety and Wellbeing practices across our campuses.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will play a key part in maintaining and strengthening the processes and practices that contribute to good work outcomes and positive safety culture across SIT.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Influence and support the achievement of our Health, Safety and Wellbeing vision across on-campus, on-job and online areas.
- Provide strategic and technical advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders, including leaders, managers, staff, students and contractors.
- Contribute to the development, review and implementation of Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategies, frameworks and practices.
- Drive meaningful engagement with student and staff.
- Connect and collaborate across functions to share good practice and learn from undesired events.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A degree-level qualification in wellbeing and safety, or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience.
- An expert and working knowledge of HSW legislation and practices
- Proven experience in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing role.
- An understanding of the vocational education sector and recent changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build relationships and influence decision-making across a diverse range of stakeholders.
