Southern Institute of Technology is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our senior management team. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic business acumen, educational insight, and strong leadership skills. This pivotal role blends educational leadership and faculty management, offering a unique opportunity to influence both academic and administrative functions within the institution.
In this key leadership position, you will oversee a diverse range of programmes, ensuring academic quality assurance, staff management, and financial budgeting. This role is critical in maintaining accreditation standards and supporting the overall success of the institution's academic offerings. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and play a significant role in shaping the future direction of the institution.
The successful candidate will have:
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge obtained from previous work experience
- Over ten years of experience in senior management or executive level roles, involved in complex problem-solving and planning, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders preferably within the vocational education sector
- Academic leadership and insight
- Strategic leadership and management
- Financial management and budgeting
- Accreditation and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A keen attention to detail, with a focus on administrative accuracy and efficiency
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, as the role involves interaction with a wide range of stakeholders
- Comfort with technology and the ability to manage digital tools to streamline operations
Preference will be given to candidates who also demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Regulatory compliance
- Knowledge and experience in the New Zealand vocational education and training sector
- Strategic management experience in a tertiary education environment
